Bulk Senders: meet the Google, Yahoo and Microsoft rules
Since 2024, Google, Yahoo and Microsoft have all published rules for anyone sending them significant volume: authentication, low spam rates, and a working one-click unsubscribe. Miss one and they can throttle your whole domain, not just the offending campaign.
- Where to find it
- Monitoring & Risk → Bulk Senders
What you'll see
- A Readiness Score out of 100.
- A separate Ready or At Risk verdict for Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, because each one's list differs slightly.
- A checklist of exactly which requirements you meet and which you don't.
- A Validator for the one-click unsubscribe headers (
List-UnsubscribeandList-Unsubscribe-Post, defined in RFC 8058) that the rules require on marketing mail.
Fixing the common gaps
| Missing item | Where to fix it |
|---|---|
| No DMARC record, or policy too weak | Smart DMARC |
| SPF failing or over the lookup limit | Smart SPF |
| DKIM not signing | Your sending platform's settings, then DKIM Inspector to confirm |
| One-click unsubscribe headers absent | Your marketing or newsletter platform's settings |
